The Hated Cellulite Cure That Works

Cellulite is not a medical condition or an aesthetic mutiny perpetrated by your thighs. It?s just excess fat that we?ve relegated as unsightly. Not all women have cellulite. All women of course have fat, but cellulite is simply excess fat bursting through the connective tissues holding the fat layer in place.
Mitchel Goldman, MD, an associate clinical professor at the University of California at San Diego regularly informs the dermatological community about cellulite treatments. On one such occasion in 2002, at American Academy of Dermatology’s summer scientific meeting in New York, Dr. Goldman offered bleak hope for women with fat dimples while asserting that there is no ?cure? for cellulite.
Perhaps Dr. Goldman has never visited a women?s figure competition, Gold?s Gym or any placed packed with women who know how to take care of their bodies. If he did frequent such places, Dr. Goldman would find that there is indeed a three-step remedy for cellulite which follows:
1. Eat a macronutrient rich diet that maintains your ideal body weight;
2. Exercise at least 60 minutes daily to promote circulation and increase the skin?s elasticity and tone; and
3. Do resistance training to increase muscle size, boost fat metabolism, and increase structural support for the skin?s fat layer.
I assure you that women who pose as models for cellulite creams and services already do these things.
Notwithstanding, Dr. Goldman rests convinced that “Foods really do not have an impact on whether a woman has cellulite or not.” He further doubts dietary interventions by stating, ?Even a woman who radically changes her diet from high fat foods to low fat foods would still have cellulite. Consumers should be wary of any diet plan that claims to reduce the appearance of cellulite — it is simply not credible.”
So how do women in the advertisements for cellulite creams get rid of their cellulite? Not by using a cream, of course. One may answer that Adobe Photoshop editing cleverly erases the smiling fat dimples. That?s not always the case. Women can and do shrink their cellulite bubbles using a sensible diet and exercise program.
1. Eating to eliminate cellulite
Enjoy five to six meals/snacks a day. Frequent eating keeps the blood sugar level balanced so that your body does not resort to fat storage. This predictable food intake also keeps the metabolism burning calories at a consistent rate.
2. Strategic exercising for cellulite elimination
A study issued by the National Academies’ Institute of Medicine in 2002 recommends an hour of cumulative exercise each day to maintain a healthy weight. Cellulite is an aesthetic issue and not a grave health threat. So while climbing the stairs here, and washing the car there, may help your heart, it does nothing for cellulite.
If you want to get rid of cellulite, you need to exercise for at least 45 to 60 minutes consistently to reap the fat burning benefits. Yet, you need not exhaust yourself.
Make your body tingle with energy Just try walking briskly at a rate fast enough to make your thighs and rear-end tingle. That way, you know you are stimulating the fat while simultaneously massaging the skin. Moreover, you are raising your external body temperature. You can spend $100s of dollars at a spa trying to get the same effect in some body wrap or massage machine. Spare yourself the hassle and get real results from the gym or on the trail.
3. Make the most of weight training
The most ridiculous fear that arises from women when I suggest weight training is the unfounded cry, ?But I don?t want to get bulky and muscular!? Please. Too many women in the gym today are hardly in any danger of developing muscle simply because they are not properly training or eating to gain muscle.
The only way to get ?bulky? with muscle is to consistently train for years lifting heavy weights and eating a generally bland diet that?s rich in protein. With that, it?s critical to make the most of your muscle training minutes in the gym. Granted the variety of weight lifting techniques remains endless, here?s some basic steps for increasing your muscle mass:
Eat before lifting
Eat at least 45 minutes before lifting weights. While, your stomach should not fill bloated with food, having some nutrients in your stomach will ensure that you have enough energy to actually lift the weight and perform enough repetitions to promote muscle growth.
Lift enough weight to feel your muscle burn after 8-10 repetitions.
The whole point of lifting weights is to tear down the muscle you have so that it will repair itself and grow back stronger and more plentiful. If you are not burning, it?s likely that you are not breaking down muscle.
Refuel your muscles with protein and carbohydrates immediately after lifting weights
Professional bodybuilders strategically plan their day to ensure that they get their protein within at most 45 minutes after having lifted weights. This is because the muscle needs fuel to repair itself. If you skip feeding a repairing muscle, it will not grow, or at best you?ll reap minimal results.
Moreover, a resent study published in the June 2004 edition of the International Journal of Sport Nutrition & Exercise Metabolism confirmed that after resistance training, a meal containing protein and carbohydrates produced more muscle growth than a meal consisting purely of carbohydrates.
Consistent dieting habits, exercising and resistance training effectively eliminate cellulite. This three-tiered strategy reduces excess fat and tones the skin- collectively revealing a smooth, bump-free backside. Though you may hate the method, it produces visible results four to six weeks with regular usage.

Healthy Recipe: Asian Beef Salad
Nothing says summer like a warm, tangy salad. This week’s recipe is a refreshingly spicy Asian salad courtesy of the American Cancer Society. Beef can be part of a healthy, well-rounded diet. Asian Beef Salad
Serves 4
1 pound sirloin steak, trimmed of excess fat (can substitute chicken or shrimp)
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon fish sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
½ teaspoon chili paste
1 cucumber, peeled, seeded, quartered lengthwise, and thinly sliced
¼ red onion, thinly sliced
1 cup halved grape tomatoes
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
2 scallions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons chopped roasted peanuts
Directions:
Preheat a lightly oiled grill to medium-high.
Grill steak for 7 to 10 minutes per side for medium-rare. Remove from grill and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing into thin strips.
Meanwhile, in a serving bowl, combine lime juice, fish sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and chili paste.
Add steak and toss to coat. Add cucumber, onion, tomatoes, cilantro, mint, and scallions and gently toss to combine. Sprinkle with peanuts.

Sugar vs. HFCS: Are Sugar-Sweetened Drinks the Way to Go?
If you go by the rate at which beverages sweetened with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), are being introduced, you might think there are real advantages to switching your purchasing habits.
A recent study at the University of California at Davis, reported in Science Daily, also supports that idea. For 10 weeks, overweight and obese individuals consumed 25% of their calories as either fructose (HFCS)- or glucose (sugar)-sweetened drinks. While both groups gained similar amounts of weight, only those who imbibed the fructose saw an increase in their intraabdominal fat (the kind that increases risk for health problems). They also became less sensitive to insulin and showed more blood lipid problems but the sugar drinkers didn’t.
Seems like a real shout-out for sugar in our drinks.
Except when you think about it.
Does the Dose Make the Poison?
In this case, even the researchers say dose-response studies are needed to discover the level of fructose associated with the negative changes they saw.
Certainly, consuming one-quarter of our calories in the form of a sweetened drink — regardless of the type of sweetener it contains — exceeds anyone’s idea of healthy eating.
I recognize there may be environmental advantages to switching sweeteners, given the way corn is produced in this country. But I wonder if it makes any difference to our nutritional health what the sweetener is if we’re using it in moderation, that is, minimally.
Methinks not.
I also wonder whether folks will think they’re doing something really positive for their health simply by making the switch from HFCS to sugar.
Methinks maybe they’ll think that. But I don’t.

1) Exercising before you eat can make you hungry. So exercise AFTER you eat;
afterwards is when your body has to work harder digesting the food, too.
2) Don’t skip breakfast – or any other meal. Your body often goes 12 hours without
food since your last meal or snack (and often from the day before) and it needs
fuel. Plus when you skip meals, the natural tendency is to over eat to make up for
it and also not face starvation.
3) Eat a maximum of four egg yolks in a week.
4) Drink skim milk instead of other types, to cut back on fats.
5) Remember these shopping tips: don’t shop when you’re hungry, always shop
from a prepared list and no impulse buying (that goes for convenient grocery
items on the end of aisles and in check out lines!)
6) If you eat while you are in front of the television, measure out your foods first so
they you don’t mindlessly much away and overdo it. In other words, no carrying
along an entire bag of chips that can turn into trough eating.
7) Instead of butter and margarine, experiment with apple butter and other healthy
fruit alternatives.
Fruit juices can be very sweet and high in sugar content, so water them down
before drinking them.
9) Add more fish to you diet, fish not prepared with batter and breading that is. Fish
has omega 3 fatty acids which help reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes. So
add fish to your weekly diet, at least twice a week is best.
10) Experiment regularly with new recipes so you add new food and experience in
your meal planning. Eating the same old things like hamburgers and pizza can
equal boredom and cause overeating to try to get your fill for something more.
11) Add more veggies into you daily eating. Try new dips, sauces and fun ways to
cook and serve them.
12) Fresh veggies don’t stay fresh too long. And that can be a difficult dilemma for
those who don’t have a lot of time to shop. So try adding a quick veggies stop in
weekly with a special errand so that you stop at a local farm market or at least the
produce section once a week: combine this trip with your weekly bank deposit or
post office visit, for example.
13) Practice alternative cooking means than frying: broiling, microwave, steaming,
crock pot with rack, toaster oven with rack, grilling, etc.
14) Substitute water for beverages at home and when eating out, even diet drinks.
Plenty of fast food joints and good restaurants serve flavored waters. Ask for
lemon, if nothing else, in your water. And stock up on lemons and limes at home.
Skip the diet pop.
15) Experiment with new veggies, dressings, nuts and fruits in salads to make your
meals more interesting, tasty and varied. Try home-made salad dressing recipes,
different colored peppers, dried and fresh fruits, different types of lettuce and
other goodies.
16) Choose wheat bread over white.
17) Substitute applesauce for oil in baking recipes.
18) Use non-stick no-fat and low-fat cooking sprays instead of adding greasing. And
bake on cooking sheets covered with aluminum foil, then sprayed fist, for easy
clean up. Place a cooking rack on top of the cookie sheet, too, for allowing fat to
drip off meats.
19) Forget about super-sizing. No one needs that much food, especially junk food.
Get smaller services and do ask for them. If you don’t ask or you just say
something like, “I’ll have a coke and fries” with that, they’ll automatically supersize
everything unless you say SMALL with coke and fries when you order. So
re-learn how to order and do it!
20) Use portion control, at home and outside the home. No one says you have to eat a
whole sandwich, for example, especially if your work is sitting behind a computer
where you aren’t doing heavy lifting or anything. So save half your sandwich for
another day. Ditto with eating out. Ask for a doggie bag WITH your food order.
Then split up your meal and take half of it home for later.
You can also ask for a child’s portion or order an appetizer in place of a regular
adult meal. So experiment and watch not only calories and fat, but money you
save.
21) When you order out, order your dressing to be off to the side. Some places like
Wendy’s are known to load on the mayo, tarter sauce and other toppings. And you
don’t need all that fat. So get your toppings off to the side and add them yourself
sparingly.
22) Bake with cocoa instead of chocolate; for example use 3 tablespoons of
unsweetened cocoa powder for each ounce of unsweetened chocolate.
23) Substitute nonfat or low fat yogurt for sour cream in salad dressings and other
recipes.
24) Add some flavor to low fat and no fat recipes and food choices to make them
more appealing: herbs and spices like garlic, basil, ginger, onion or onion powder,
oregano and tarragon. Look in cookbooks and also try your own combinations.

Fried Rice
Ingredients
3 cups Cauliflower, grated
3 Green onions, chopped
4 Cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp Low-sodium soy sauce
1 tsp Garlic salt
3 Eggs, beaten
Oil
4 cups Rice
Preparation
In a large pan, heat enough oil to cover bottom of pan. Fry minced garlic and onions
(white bulbs, not green stems) for 2 min. Add grated cauliflower and fry 5 min, while
you stir constantly. Next add soy sauce, garlic salt, green onion stems and stir until
mixed. Place all off to the side of pan. Then scramble eggs, adding a little more oil if
needed, in the empty side of pan until it’s done, yet still moist. Then stir the eggs into
the rice mixture and remove from heat. Makes two servings in approximately 15
minutes.
Mixed Vegetable Variety
Ingredients:
Large tomato
White pumpkin
Onion
Carrot
Potato small
3 cups Water
(Pressure-cook all the above ingredients and keep it aside)
Carrot
Capsicum
Spring onion sprig
Cabbage leaves
(Chop all these vegetables)
Plus:
1 tbsp Butter
2 tbsp Boiled, drain pasta (any kind like: noodles, macaroni, spaghetti, etc.)
2 tbsp Red garlic sauce
½ tsp Ginger grated
1 tbsp Tomato ketchup
Salt and Pepper to taste
Preparation
Blend the above pressure-cooked vegetables in a mixer and strain. The heat butter in
a pan, add ginger and stir. Mix in the chopped vegetables and stir-fry the mixture for
approx. 3 minutes. Mix in pureed stock and bring to a boil. Add all of the other
ingredients, then stir and simmer for roughly 3 minutes. Makes two servings in
approximately 15 minutes.
Banana Power
Ingredients:
4 Ripe bananas
1 tsp Lemon juice
1 tsp Oil
2 tbsp Honey
2 tbsp Sesame seeds
Preparation
Brush peeled bananas with oil, and then with lemon juice. Place them in oiled baking
pan and drizzle them with honey and then sprinkle them with sesame seeds. Broil all
for about 6 minutes until heated throughout and browned, and until the sesame seeds
toasted. Makes two servings in approximately 15 minutes.
Healthy Chocolate Shake
Mix in blender:
¼ cup Cream
¼ cup Cottage cheese (optional)
¼ cup Egg substitute
½ cup Water – ½ cup
1 tbsp Cocoa – 1 tbsp
2 tbsp sugar substitute
2 tbsp Low carb protein powder
Preparation
Blend a few minutes until all is well mixed, and then add up to 8 ice cubes, blending
one in at a time. A super drink for two in approximately 10 minutes.
Healthy Vegetable Soup
Ingredients
9 spinach leaves
5 leaves just below cauliflower
3 coriander leaves
1 small onion
1 Stalk of celery
1 tbsp Ginger peeled and crushed
1 clove Garlic crushed
1 tsp Corn flour
¼ Dried red chilly crushed
½ tsp Sugar
Salt to taste
½ tsp Soya sauce
½ tsp Oil
21/2 cups Water
Preparation
Clean all vegetables and stems. Chop vegetables making them into thin slanted
slivers. Heat the oil in a pan and add ginger garlic. Sauté for one minute. Next add
vegetables and stir fry until tender. Then add water and bring to a boil. Mix in corn
flour with 1/2 cup cold water, then add to soup. Stir continuously until it comes to a
boil, then add the salt, sugar, chilly and soy sauce. Boil until it thickens. Serve fresh
and hot. Makes two servings in approximately 15 minutes

However, estrogen is not the only hormone that occurs during that time, and any one of those could actually be the culprit. In addition, when patients combine exercise, diet, and anti cellulite cream, they may get successful result indicating that hormone is only a part of the issue.
Another research has shown that it is thought an accumulation of swollen fat cells leads to the formation of cellulite, since the swollen fat cells can press on the connective fibers around them. The pressure will make these connective fibers bending and the skin is pulled downward which results in a puckered look on the surface that leads to cellulite. The fat cells can also clog up the lymphatic system in which there is insufficient flow of blood and thus allows cellulite to gather in those regions.
Old age is believed to be another cause of cellulite because when a person ages, there is less ability in the body to get rid of toxins and the fluids will loose their strength which causes toxins to gather beneath the skin and thus allows for the growth of cellulite. Others declare that cellulite is a metabolism issue, and that as a women’s metabolism begins to slow down, the cellulite condition will become worse as well. Some people also think that cellulite is hereditary because it does not discriminate between fat or skinny people. Poor dietary habit can also contribute to what causes cellulite.
Treatments and preventive measures of cellulite
Even though there is no concrete answer about the causes of cellulite, there are successful treatment options available.
